Traveling to Fort Knox

Fort Knox is located in North Central Kentucky just off Interstate 264W. Take US 31W/60 and head south 15 miles to the main gate of Fort Knox.

Airports

Fort Knox is served by Louisville Regional Airport in Louisville, Kentucky.  The airport is approximately 45 minute drive from the installation.   Travel from the airports is via four lane divided highway or shuttle service.   If you're going to rent a car at the airport, here are the directions to Fort Knox:  Get on I-264W. Get off at US 31W/60 and head south. This road runs straight to Fort Knox.  You may also travel to Fort Knox by bus, taxi, or shuttle service.

Bus

Greyhound Bus provides service to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Elizabethtown is approximately 16 miles from the Fort Knox military reservation.  The Greyhound Bus station is located at 2022 N Mulberry Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Save 15% when you book your tickets online.

Train

Amtrak does not provide train service to Fort Knox, Kentucky.  The closest train service is Cincinnati, OH which is located 142 miles from Ft. Knox.
